Used agricultural farm machinery - move to new exports service from May (email sent 09/04)
Defra and APHA have been working to develop and deliver a new IT system to replace eDomero for plants and plant products exports. The new service will be available for exporters, on a phased basis from spring and throughout summer 2021.
Over the past few months, the team have been working closely with a small group of used agricultural farm machinery exporters, to further develop, test and refine the live system.
We’ve had positive feedback from this group of traders and some of the comments have included:
“The system is far easier to use than the previous one. Everything is so self-explanatory."
“I found the system so easy to use and self-explanatory. I did not need any additional support I was able to follow the online process and easily register my application.”
“As long as you have all of the details ready for raising an application, the system is so easy. You just need to be prepared with your own information.”
Based on this success, used agricultural farm machinery will be the first commodity group to fully move from eDomero to the new service, benefitting from an improved user experience which is and a faster and more efficient.
We will contact used agricultural farm machinery exporters over the coming weeks with an invitation to an information and walkthrough session, which will provide an opportunity for those traders to become fully familiar with the system.
Exporters of other commodities will transition to using the new service in phases over the coming months, following the below timeline. You’ll be contacted when your commodity group is moving from eDomero to the new service.
In the meantime, should you have any questions, please speak to your local inspector or contact us by email at Defra-SPSIT-Plant_comms_enquiries@defra.gov.uk .
