Exporters with digital barriers using online services needed to help develop PHES

Exporters with digital barriers using online services needed to help develop PHES

As you may know Defra and APHA have been working to develop and deliver the new Plant Health Export Service (PHES), replacing eDomero for plant health export applications. Development is based on user needs, and we have so far conducted research with over 80 users.

We want to widen our research to ensure we capture the needs of all users, meaning the service is as accessible and easy to use as possible.

We are looking for those exporters whose digital skills and/or understanding may prevent them from using the online service.

For example you may:

  • still apply using a paper form because the online route is too complicated;

  • struggle with logging into a computer and/or connecting to WiFi;

  • struggle with sending and/or attaching documents to emails;

  • use older technology to access modern services;

  • not be able to log in to Government Gateway;

  • not be able to log in to eDomero.

If you require assistance with digital technology, and would be happy to discuss these challenges with our research team, please contact Paul Noble via email Paul.Noble@defra.gov.uk or call 07913 129 379.
