Following consultation with plant businesses across Great Britain, we are introducing targeted changes to the current plant health check import regime. These changes will come into effect from 22 July 2022.
From 22 July, a new GB focused risk-based inspection regime will be introduced, which will assign the appropriate frequency of plant health checks to address the degree of risk posed by different categories of commodities imported into Great Britain. Find out more information on this and the frequency of checks of commodities. This is implemented via introduction of the new Official Controls (Plant Health) (Frequency of checks) 2022

Furthermore, following industry feedback, a new flat-rate inspection fee for plants for planting and cuttings will also be applied in England and Wales. Find out more details on this.
