Changes to the frequencies of plant health checks and associated fees for imports into Great Britain.

Following consultation with plant businesses across Great Britain, we are introducing targeted changes to the current plant health check import regime. These changes will come into effect from 22 July 2022. 

From 22 July, a new GB focused risk-based inspection regime will be introduced, which will assign the appropriate frequency of plant health checks to address the degree of risk posed by different categories of commodities imported into Great Britain. Consequently, UK Plant Health Services have updated the fees for plant health checks to ensure they reflect this new risk-based import checks regime.  

Furthermore, following industry feedback, a new flat-rateinspection fee for plants for planting and cuttings will also be applied in England and Wales. Find out more details on this
