General Comments

Asian scale insect affecting particular species of pine trees. It has been introduced to China and the USA, where it is causing high levels of damage to susceptible pines. Taxonomic studies need to be done to determine if the Matsucoccus species present in the UK and Europe is the same species as the one found in Asia.
