EU requirements mean that herbaceous plants in Great Britain must be free from the tomato leaf miner (Liriomyza bryoniae), the South American or serpentine leaf miner (Liriomyza huidobrensis) and the American serpentine leaf miner (Liriomyza trifolii) to enable movement to Ireland and Northern Ireland.
There are four possible additional declarations (ADs) that can be added to the phytosanitary certificate. One of these ADs requires treatment for Liriomyza spp. followed by an official inspection by the PHSI immediately prior to marketing. Details on treatment options available for Liriomyza spp. to help meet the EU requirements are presented in this guide.
