Some commodities are prohibited for import into GB from all or certain countries. Those commodities are subject to a permanent prohibition due to an inherent pest and disease risk. There are also goods that are prohibited pending a submission of a technical dossier from an exporting National Plant Protection Organisation to support the import of a specific trade. Finally, there are goods that are subject to emergency control measures.
Prohibitions should always be cross checked against the legislation to ensure they are up to date.
