UK Plant Breeders with Retained EU Plant Variety Rights: Important Information

If you hold Retained EU Plant Variety Rights, you will need to provide us with some additional information relating to those rights for their remaining lifespan.

APHA are responsible for the process of transferring Retained EU Plant Variety Rights, with assistance from the Scottish Government, the Welsh Government and the Department of Environment and Rural Affairs Northern Ireland (DAERA NI).

We have been migrating information received from the EU to a UK database. To make the process of updating our UK database as efficient as possible, we are inviting Rights holders to provide us with this information now. Please see this letter for further information.  It is also available in Welsh.

This is a follow up to a letter we sent to some Retained EU Plant Variety Rights holders on 10 February 2023. Thank you to those of you who have already provided us with the requested information. Please be assured that we are in the process of dealing with your request and you do not need to take further action.

If you have any queries please email eupvrtransferukpbr@apha.gov.uk.
