Before you move your plants, seeds and machinery or vehicles to Northern Ireland, you must examine any consignments to make sure they meet the phytosanitary requirements for Northern Ireland.
Below are the pests for which you will need to examine certain commodities for. This is because these are pests for which specific official inspections such as growing season inspections to ensure the goods are free from the pests concerned.
Further guidance on the Northern Ireland Plant Health Label (NIPHL) scheme is available on GOV.uk.
Plants labelled with an * symbol are prohibited from moving to Northern Ireland unless specific requirements are in place. We are currently in the process of working with the EU to lift such prohibitions focusing initially on commercially important species identified by industry. See further guidance on the Plant Health Portal for these ‘High Risk Plants’.
A list of plants with their vernacular names and applicable pests is available in the Annex,
